Anyone had a flu jab?
Been ‘invited’ to go to the quacks this morning for said injection. Seeing as I’ve only had flu twice in my life and heard more than a few horror stories is it actually worth doing?

Re: Anyone had a flu jab?
Don't be a dick. You're getting old now and catching flu as a middle aged or old person is more dangerous than catching it when you're young. The horror stories are grossly exaggerated. Go and get the bloody jab.

Re: Anyone had a flu jab?
Never had one and until I’m old and decrepit I have no intentions to have it.
I will however have a covid vaccination if/when one is available as I’m not one of those believers that think it’s all part of a conspiracy to manipulate and track you.

Re: Anyone had a flu jab?
Apparently, getting the regular flu at the same time as COVID greatly increases your chance of dying so why not?

Then again, maybe that's what Bill Gates wants us all to do.

Re: Anyone had a flu jab?
"Oooh, no. Don't have a flu jab. I had one once and the jab GAVE me flu. Then my foot fell off. Then my wife left me for my brother and a jumbo jet crashed into my house"

Apes are stupid.

Re: Anyone had a flu jab?
I did get a shot when I was passing by a medical centre just because I hate man flu, let alone real flu.

Re: Anyone had a flu jab?
I got the proper flu last year and it was fucking awful. Worst I've felt in years. I wished I had got a jab in my lucid moments between hallucinations.

Re: Anyone had a flu jab?
I had the shot at the beginning of winter here in Oz, no side effects, not sure it’s needed in the current social distancing world, flu was almost unheard of in Australia, and it’s spring now.

About the only good thing to come out of the COVID panicked world

I’ll get it then , but if my arm falls off I’m blaming the nurse.

She is a real nurse isn’t she?

Re: Anyone had a flu jab?
Don’t do it.

“They’re” injecting you with 5G so that the government planes can always tell where you are and they can come and secretly fly over your house dropping covid in their Chem trails right on your fucking head and down your chimbly.

WAKE UP!

Yes she is, in the same way as you used to manage Everton.

Last flu I got was swine flu. I was feverish for 3 days and nights, but as it was Christmas, it was difficult to tell which was which. Or care.

Re: Anyone had a flu jab?
Been getting them annually for well over 20 years

Occasionally they will make you feel like crap for 24 to 48 hours, this year reaction at all.

They don't seem to stop me catching a cold / flu but they definitely ensure that I'm only ill with mildi symptoms for a day or so.

I've only had one year when I didn't get a flu jab and that winter I got a cold / flu that fucked me up for a week.

Re: Anyone had a flu jab?
Definitely worth it.
I get it every year as I am old and asthmatic. Last had flu in my mid 20s and was wiped out for a week; not keen on going there again thank you.

Re: Anyone had a flu jab?
Go get it. I get the jab every year and with one exception it has always worked. Three years ago the jab produced was aimed at preventing the wrong strain of flu and I managed to contract the predominant strain in the UK and had flu for the first time in forty something years. Not a pleasurable experience.

Re: Anyone had a flu jab?
Had it annually for fifteen years or so. Never noticed even a slight side-effect, aside from the occasional sore arm for a day or two. As Nurse points out, the horror stories will tend to be urban legend.

It's a shame for me this year that I'll either get it really late or not at all as I'm working from home, but on the other hand that also limits my exposure to it.

Anyway - get it done!

Right now most places are rationing the jobs for 65s and over.

This.

It's funny because so many people say they've had flu when they've actually had a bad cold. Then they REALLY have flu and suddenly realise what the (big) difference is.

I've had mine already. I'm not scared of Bill Gates.

Re: Anyone had a flu jab?
Site of the injection can be sore for a short time. Also makes me feel tired for a few days as it exercises my immune system. Just do it.

Re: Anyone had a flu jab?
Ronald will be along shortly I suspect, he will set your mind at rest when it comes to vaccinations.

Your insides turn to custard and it’s all part of Bill Gates plans to conquer the world.

Re: Anyone had a flu jab?
I'm 62, never had the jab, never had the flu - at least, not that I can remember! If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
